D.O.F

Depth of Field is making things blurry or not blurry. It depends on the lens and how the settings or adjusted on the camera. A camera is focused on a subject and everything that is not in the same distance as that subject will be blurry. Basically the range of the camera.
A way to adjust DOF
1.The more the lens is stopped down the more the DOF will be
2.aperture
3.shutter speeds

There are times were you would want to have things blurry. Such as when your taking a picture of a single object, it would look cool to have everything in the background blurry. Or when you taking a picture of an object. Have everything clear and the object blurry. It also looks bad somethimes. Most the time you don't want it.

Exposure

Exposure is the act of exposing film to light. Taking a picture on a light sensitive paper.
Exposure is affected my camera shutter speed and aperture and more. Aperture is the eye of the camera. It controls how much light gets the the camera sensor. Aperture is messured by the F_number.
The F_number is how narrow and wide the aperture is. The F_number can go from alot to a little.
There is also the fact of shutter speed. Shutter speed can get up to 1/1000th of a second to many seconds at a time.

Pin_Hole Camera

I am in a digital studio class. In this class we take pictures and learn how to take good one and edit them. In this post i will be teaching you on how to make and use a pin-hole camera. The purpose of this project was to learn how to make a pin-hole camera and use it. A pin-hole camera teaches us what the basic functions of a camera are.

Pin-hole cameras are mostly made out of boxes. The function of a pin-hole camera is you put a piece of photo sensitive paper in your pin-hole camera. then once the paper is in place you will open a flap that will light into the camera. The light hits the paper ad the paper will absorb an image that the light puts on it. The basic components of a pin-hole camera are the hole, the flap and making shore there is no light going into the box except the hole that you put under the flip in the box.

Materials

A medium size box such as a cracker box
duck tape
photo light sensitive paper
a very small piece of cardboard that will cover the pin-hole
a pin

Instructions

What you need to do is first, take that box and duck tape all of the openings were light can get in because if even a little bit of light gets in the box it will ruin the picture.
Next, you need to cut a small slit in the box so that you can put the paper in there.

Make shore you cut the slit somewhere were you have duck tape at the top of the box because then no light will get into the box.
Then, you need to put a pin hole right in the middle of the box. YOU HAVE TO put it right in the middle or the photo will not fit on the paper.
Put the flap on the pin-hole and put a piece of tape on the flap so you can open and close it.

O.k to operate pin-hole camera. you need to go to a dark room to put the paper in the box so it dose not get exposed to light. Then you need to hold the box real still on the subject that you are taking the picture or it will come out blurry. Now once you are ready open and close the flap. keep the flap open any ware from 10 to 30 minuets. Not any longer or any shorter than that or it wont turn out.

Our group did really good on our pin-hole camera. We made it exactly right and it looks really good. Our pictures did not come out right tho and i think its because wile we put the paper in the box the light got to it and messed it all up at the very beginning. The thing i would do different is that i would use a dark room instead of a bag to transfer the paper.

Digital studios

In this class we are learning about cameras and how to take a edit a good picture. The things i already know about photography is it takes a good camera to take a good picture. i know in different lightings the picture will come out different. I know that you can zoom and stuff to get a better picture of a very small object or get a better picture of something far away.

I would like to learn about how to better edit my pictures and a better way to take my pictures. i don't take a lot of pictures so i am a little behind but ya cool.
